Error 255 appears during a scan of a drive. What does that mean?

Error 255 means that the Hard Drive has a physically bad sector that the software could not read.

Nothing can be done about this other than selecting to Ignore the bad sector(s).

The software will continue scanning and simply ignores any data from the bad sector(s).
