is an easy to use, safe, and efficient data recovery tool, even if your system is not bootable.

Active@ File Recovery

Active File Recovery for Windows provides the ability to effectively recover data as a result of having been accidentally deleted, formatted or otherwise lost.

The Enterprise package of Active@ File Recovery also includes a Partition Recovery tool. They can be launched from the bootable CD to work with a crashed or failing computer system.

File Recovery Tips

File recovery utilities take advantage of the fact that the actions performed when emptying the Windows Recycle Bin are reversible. When a file is deleted, the operating system only changes the attribute of the space used by the file from an "occupied" status to an "available" status. The file’s information is hidden until it can be unlocked by a recovery utility. It is a good idea to avoid writing files to the affected drive partition to steer clear of writing over data that you wish to recover. Learn more >>

Cases for using the Active@ File Recovery software:

  • Recover deleted files and folders from an emptied recycle bin.
  • Recover files deleted as a result of bypassing the Recycle Bin (for example when using [Shift]+[Delete])
  • Data recovery when the hard drive disks are damaged (or disks have bad sectors).
  • Data recovery after disk partitions loss / format / damage
  • Files that have been lost by formatting, damaged by virus attack, a malicious program, or a power failure.
  • Photos, pictures deleted from flash media, or lost due to formatting a memory card.

It is the only way to recover your data even if your system is not bootable ...

Active@ File Recovery Enterprise installation package contains a CD/DVD ISO image that you can burn to get a bootable CD or DVD with a lightweight version of Windows Vista (c) running in RAM (WinPE 2.0). It is the only way to recover your data in the case that your system is not bootable and you cannot attach the damaged Hard Disk Drive to another machine.

After booting from the CD/DVD you will see a Windows environment with Networking, so you can either just recover your data (copy files to a USB drive or Network drive). Many other useful utilities are included besides data recovery utility: Web Browser, File Manager, Terminal Client, Partition Manager, Task Manager, Command Prompt, etc...

I was able to recover and save all of my files ...

"I just want to let you know that I was able to recover and save all of my files from my second hard drive, including all my MP3 music that I was worried about.

I appreciate your assistance and patience all those days in trying to recover my deleted partition, but your suggestion to recover the files was just what I needed to get the job done." - James Czech

With the help of File Recovery, I was able to retrieve all my files from a failed hard drive ...

"THANK YOU! With the help of File Recovery, I was able to retrieve all my files from a failed hard drive. As bad luck goes, I had another drive fail very shortly after my file recovery. Only this time it was my OS drive that had File Recovery installed on it.
I very much appreciate your re-download feature that helped me recover all my files from another failed hard drive.

- Matthew Crile

Trying to get files off a corrupted drive with Active@ File Recovery ...

"With FR I was able to scan the bad drive perfectly. The scan took 3-5 minutes (37gb). Now I could recognize everything and found some files that I wasn't able to find in DOS. The best news is that I was able to copy and recover all the Outlook files, too!!!! I haven't tried to read and input them into Outlook yet, but at least I got this far. Your program is great and I thank you very, very much for your fabulous help and support. Your program have done what no others could do.

Thanks again!" - Mark Conradt

Active File Recovery for Windows found lost file right away in Demo mode ...

"I just wanted to write your company a short note of thanks for offering the extraordinary high quality recovery software. I had 6 months of work on my home computer that I thought because of a power surge during a routine chkdsk would be lost forever.
After trying 3 other programs, all not able to even find my missing partition, your program, Active File Recovery for Windows, found it right away in Demo mode. After testing by recovering a small file that your demo version allowed, I opened the file and was so pleased that the file was still in tact.
A day later, I'm up and running with so far a 100% data recovery success. I will gladly pass on your website to anyone I hear is having a problem, including other co-workers of mine!" - Aaron Belchamber
